The end is nigh.

Windows XP has been with us for over 10 years now, unfortunately Microsoft is soon ending support for the incredibly stable and compatible operating system to date. April the 8th 2014 is Windows XP official funeral date but people could still use Windows XP until they decide to upgrade to Windows 7 or 8.

What do you mean “End of support”? To consumers basically there will be no more updates for XP meaning the possible threat of security risks and attacks and have support by Microsoft for any problems that occur after April the 8th.

What does this mean for me if I’m currently using XP? Depending on what you do on your computer you should consider clicking on the links below.

If you use your computer to run a specific program which you know full well works in Windows XP consider checking out the “Windows compatibility centre”

If you’re thinking of purchasing a new computer this will certainly come with either Windows 7 or 8 there are plenty of laptops and desktops with different specifications to suit you. But if you don’t fancy buying a complete new computer why not see if your current computer will run Windows 7 using Microsoft’s Upgrade Adviser, make sure you plug every device you use on your computer like cameras, scanners, printers and other hardware to check and make sure that all your devices you use are compatible.
